Good morning y’all!

If you’ve been following my blogs, you might notice a recent gap. I am fully aware of this, even though I said I would post every week. Life has brought many changes, which I look forward to sharing in the coming weeks as God’s direction becomes clearer.

We also have a podcast: the You Amaze Me podcast. It goes deeper into previous blog topics. However, I’ve felt less motivated to share older topics while feeling behind, so I plan to write a blog on the current week’s experiences and discuss it on the podcast. I’m excited about this new direction, so stay tuned for the latest episode coming soon.

So what’s God been speaking to me about recently?

Recently, I’ve been searching for a car. We might get one this weekend. Through this process, I realized that the overall condition of the car matters more than its age or mileage. It’s important to consider factors like how regularly it’s been serviced. This is especially true for those, like my friends, who buy second-hand cars.

You definitely will look out for this. Why? Because no one will want to spend – aka invest in a car, if it will prove unreliable. The money will be going down the drain.

So this got me thinking. Simply put, just because we are new to faith or have been walking in faith for a long time, it doesn’t mean we have strong faith. God does mention the first being last and the last being first [Matthew 20:16].

No matter where we are in our walk with God, we should not assume it’s deeply rooted. For while God never changes, we as flesh must daily make an effort not to be arrogant or complacent, or stumble in a world of sin. But rather, yeah, like the car example, how often is our heart being serviced?

How often do we go to God?

We could have received Christ many years ago and haven’t had a ‘service’ with God since. Or we could be new and go back to our old ways. Truly, I hope and I speak for myself also, that we continually service our hearts, so to speak.

Because even in things like a car, without the service, we cannot diagnose what’s wrong, prevent huge damage, and see the issue before the whole car is far from usable.

Other things that I was thinking about this week were about how, when I do want a car, I don’t want to have this mindset of being in a rush. See, when I was working casual work, sometimes I would leave just on time and so it left no room for slowness. But I noticed that at times when you do go that bit faster – which I do not encourage- you don’t get there much quicker. Honestly, maybe a good 1-2 mins. And the ride journey isn’t fun, and it could be more dangerous. And your body is rushed. But it might feel good because things are moving a bit quicker, so logically youll think you’re going quicker.

But what about trains? Have you thought about them? Honestly, I didn’t. But recently, there was a train that was more express than before. It skipped literally all the stops (about 6 or 7) except for 2 before my stop. So in my mind, I thought “we will save so much time.” But thinking back, I realise, trains don’t stop for more than maybe 20 seconds or so. So yeah, using that logic, it was true. Honestly, we only shaved like 2 minutes max from the normal arrival time when we would stop at all the stops.

So what’s the message of the story? That no matter our busy life, taking it slow or normal pace, or even adding a few stops, will not cause such a BIG issue. Like in our life, time for that 1 mintue prayer or reading that one verse, in my mind also it can also feel like so much. That I would loose so much sleep or it will chew up so much time. Honestly, even things in the world it doesn’t affect much – physically. You will live and things will be done. But spiritually, it will affect so much. Like in our heart, stress and mindset, the quicker we move, the more prone to mistakes, stress, and worry. But God doesn’t want that. Chaos is the world Satan created. S

What does God want? Peace. Love. Joy.

How can we also have this? If we regularly ‘service’ our hearts. If we take time for Him. It stacks up and adds to our spiritual growth and personal relationship with God.

So next time we put off opening our Bible or praying, lets think back to is it really a big deal to do it? Because it will mean for much for our spirit. And in the world’s POV it doesn’t affect much. The world doesn’t see the need, but we MUST see the need. No one else will see and do it for you. You must take the initiative to go get it serviced. Because in the world, there is a standard number of times in a year you should get a car serviced. But what about our spirit? How often should we get it serviced? Well, think how often do we sin? [Joshua 1:8] That sin is like the bad stuff in a car. Do we only get it serviced on Sunday? Is that really the heart we should have?

Because if that’s the case, then how are you running during the week?

God, you amaze me!

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
