Happy Sunday!

What a chilly past week it has been. I trust and hope y’all staying warm.

This week has been another blast. I hope you can take a moment now and think of one amazing highlight or something you’re grateful for from this week – feel free to share it in the comments below.

This week’s main highlight was finding out I work 5 mins from UQ Atrium in the city. I cannot believe for about 1 year I have been working near an amazing cozy study space. And the best part is that there is free coffee. Yep…free and with no strings attached.

See I saw an IG reel recently of a girl getting free coffee at this UQ place in the city, but it sounded too good to be true. It was only having received a call from UQ that I started paying attention. And sure enough, it does in fact exist.

It was not even 7 days ago, I was thinking about wanting a nice study space to do my blog, read a book etc., because I kinda miss the uni vibes or study space in general to be productive. But didn’t really want to travel into the campus. And it just so happens I discovered that place. I find it amazing how sometimes, most times, God has His amazing fingerprints over my life – and while not necessarily praying about it, He opens doors I never knew existed.

Crazy thing is I never knew about the UQ space until now, and I have walked near that area many times before. But unless I knew what was inside, there was no reason to think much more.

For myself, reflecting on this, it’s kinda like in a way how we believers might be the only Bible someone reads – I have heard this said somewhere before [Titus 2:7-8].

Hang in there with me, and I will explain.

Many people in this world are seeking happiness. We Christians and even non-Christians have come to conclude and know, that the world will still leave us feeling empty, no matter how much money we have, or how many travel destinations we take. Many famous rich people mention this and as believers we know true joy is found in Christ. So, everyone in one way space or form, are seeking this true happiness – because we are all constantly chasing happiness.

Even earlier this week a guy spoke to me on the bus, and a comment he made stood out – “I will be happy once I have a partner.” And honestly this can seem like a valid statement. But this isn’t the case. While you watch those romance movies – which I am guiltily of watching those Hallmark movies where you can predict the end from the beginning. But, yes while having a partner and best friend is a good thing, even from hearing from married couples, I know that we cannot rely on others to fill that void – void of happiness. Because the honest truth is that people do let us down, we are not perfect, and we have our own flaws. And while that’s not to get your hopes down, its to realise that finding happiness doesn’t come from obtaining those things, whether relationship, money, fame, etc you name it.

The world doesn’t make it clear where to look for this happiness.

Again its like my story of the UQ study space – which fyi is for graduates, so I do qualify to be there. Kinda being able to go in for coffee and study, does make the uni debt just a little bit sweeter.

But truly, if we seek but without the right direction, what we’re looking for could be hidden under our nose and we not even realise it. Like for instance, what if in your backyard you had hidden gold, but without a map or clue to know its there, you’d never know.

People won’t necessary have the heart to know that reading their Bible is good – for seeking faith for eternal hope and happiness. Beucase I was also someone who even as a believer, didn’t find reading my Bible as a thing I wanted to do. But as Christians, we can be a light to those around us. To help guide them and open their hearts to find a faith. Because unless I was eagerly searching for a study space, had UQ not reached out, I would not have found it – or at least not as soon.

And just like that, we should be a good example to others. Because just as people read a book, we read each other.

God, you amaze me!

Titus 2:7-8 NIV

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

God is within us and with us
