Good morning y’all!

Ever experience bird poop on your car windshield?

Well it happens and this week you will hear all about it on the You Amaze Me Podcast. How even in this instance we can think about what the deeper meaning is and how we can reflect.

I was travelling in the night and I notice the bird poop on my car windshield. In attempt to clean it I turned on the wind-wipers and water. But not too long into it, the water stopped. I was out of water and now left with a worse state – the poop smoodge. So while it was an convenience, I went to the petrol station to clean it and fill up the water.

If we leave messes for longer, it gets harder to clean. It is important to deal with our messes quickly [Matthew 5:25]. Were in this instance, it is anything that leads us away from God aka Adversary. Because I was thinking I could leave it, but if I had left it the poop would have been crusty and harder to clean.

In our life too. We are all sinners, but we need God’s Word to renew us. The root issue is lack of water in this case. If we have much water, we can easily clean the windshield. But with a lack of water, the harder it is to clean and more that it feels like an inconvenience. That is why James 5:16 says to confess our sins. We cannot continue to cover sin, but deal with it at its core. Like we could use the car wash, but that’s just a once off clean for our car. Kinda like how we can rely on hearing the Word on a Sunday thinking it’s enough.

We are all dealing with sin in different ways. And God sees sin all the same. Where in the world we might think of one type of sin as okay and one as very bad. But God sees it all the same.

We need to become less complacent and step out (of our car) and deal with the root issue.

The more we are full of His Word, we can deal with sin and respond differently in situations that come in our day or week. We need to pray, read the Word, and give God glory and praise.

But the less we constantly fill up, when we finally run out, it will be seen as a BIG inconvenience. And living in a world where convenience is our first thought, we make the Word less valuable than it truly is.

Stay grounded in His Word we can die more to the flesh, and move in the Spirit. Have a renewed mindset.

Matthew 5:25 NIV

“Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.

James 5:16 NIV

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
